Fines during your shift

As stated in the employment contract, traffic violation fines are the responsibility of the employee:

“Any fines for infringements to road traffic laws will be borne exclusively by the Employee. To the extent permitted by law, the Employee with this Agreement hereby accepts that any fines for violation of the Codice della Strada (Traffic code), if paid directly by the Employer, can be deducted from the employee’s salary.

We remind you that as holders of a driving licence, the State and Local Authorities recognize your knowledge of the Codice della Strada (Traffic code), which you are required to comply with regardless of the vehicle you are driving.

In the case of company vehicle use:

An employee is not entitled to take action against the report, except when there is a penalty involving deduction of points from the driving licence that is also included in the violation.

Outside of this circumstance, the company can otherwise refuse to grant the possibility to appeal the fine and deduct the cost from the employee’s salary.

The company commits to give the employee the opportunity to take advantage of a 30% discount on the payment of fines in the case of fines incurred with the use of a company vehicle.
